Engine Usage
Every 100
hours
on a marine engine could equal anywhere
from 5,000-15,000 miles on a car, depending on how hard it was driven. Rule of thumb: 100
hours = 10,000 miles or 16,000 km. Bottom line: Buy
from a trusted source (reputable dealer) or have the boat inspected if you have doubts. Footnote:
Most engines are wrecked from leaking gaskets and exhaust risers. That is the
biggest cause of "engine wear", which is actually damage. Maintaining your
engine is the best way to protect your investment. |
