Banner graphics are offered in four types of materials:
LightJet with Laminate: Our most popular choice because of its brilliant photo quality finish. Laminate choices are textured, matte, and luster. Tear resistant, matte paper which gives you a bright colored non-glare finish.
Polypropylene: 1200 DPI ink jet process. Tear resistant, matte material which gives you a bright colored non-glare finish. A reasonable light duty application usually recommended for short term use.
Vinyl: Also known as "scrim vinyl," also one of our most popular banner material due to its high print quality and durability. Polyester reinforced vinyl material is ideal in price and performance. Provides strong, vibrant colors. Good choice for indoor/outdoor use. Arizona or Vutek output options use solvent inks which are UV and weather resistant for outdoor or indoor use.
Fabric: A high-class application that is both lightweight, versatile and durable. Lightweight Polyester fabric with translucent properties allowing backlighting if desired. Wrinkle, stain and fade resistant.
5 mil Titanium Film - Banner Graphics: A new generation film for the Roll-Up portable display market. The media substrate is a specialized extrusion of DuPont Teijin Melinex WLDO film – the toughest and most dimensionally stable base available. What makes it unique is the titanium stoplight layer which is extruded as part of the film. As light cannot penetrate the media, displays in mixed lighting conditions are brighter with more impact.
Displays are more durable too – the ink receiver layer is bonded into the film using Corona treatment – fusing the top molecules with an ultra high voltage charge during coating. In fact this process is standard on all our film and photobase products. If you want the best in terms of image quality and durability in Roll-Up and portable displays, our 5 mil titanium film sets new standards.
12 mil Titanium Film - Pop Up and Detachable Graphics: The media substrate is a custom extrusion of DuPont Tejin Melinex WLDO film, made exclusively for Kentmere at 12 mil. has a titanium stop-light layer co-extruded within the film, ensuring bright saturated displays even in strong, mixed lighting. This manufacturing technique also offers the toughest, most dimensionally stable solution for Pop-Up and specialist display.
Polyester Fabric: The smooth weaved fray resistant polyester fabric provides vibrant photo quality prints. Superior color-fastness and water resistant properties make this an ideal choice for indoor and outdoor graphics.

Please set up for output in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, QuarkXPress, or Adobe InDesign.
In order to achieve the best results, please include a color/laser proof and/or Pantone® color (if needed). Our color results may vary, we will strive to match as close as possible. Also be sure to include on CD the following:
Prevent font defaults by avoiding the use of “bold” or “italic”, etc. stylized font attributes. In some instances, these attributes will not take effect during postscripting. Instead, select the bold or italic font from the font list. Make sure to provide all fonts used in the layout & support files. If necessary, convert your text to outlines/paths. Please include both printer and screen fonts True Type or Type 1.
Large bitmap images can consume your hard disk space & be difficult to transport. Save imaging time by rotating, cropping and scaling high-resolution images in a photo manipulation program before inserting into a layout. Image resolution at capture should be appropriate for final output size (i.e. output a 30” by 40” image at 100 ppi or 50% the actual size - 15" by 20” image at 200 ppi). Different output devices attain and therefore require different resolution used at final size. Check with your sales representative with any question.
Where possible, please use vector based images for logos and other illustrated images in your layout. Vector images can be enlarged almost indefinitely while retaining sharp lines, clean edges and consistent color. We prefer Freehand or Illustrator EPS file formats.
All files to be output require at least 1 inch bleed around them. Banners and other extra long plots and specialty items may have increased bleed requirement. Please check with a representative for this information.
Prevent inconsistent blacks by using rich blacks consistently throughout the layout. Create a custom color for black as:
Setup your files at 100% of the final output size. If this is not possible, set up proportionally at 50% or 25% of the final output size. Do not go any smaller if possible. Make sure your file is proportional to the final output size. If the job needs to be re-configured before output due to inconsistent proportions, the cost of your output may increase sharply.
Large Format Printers are not Pantone® devices. Colors will be close but not exact. Where possible, we would appreciate color proofs and Pantone® colors be included when job is submitted.
